Our Project

GO‑SHARE is a project that brings together universities, schools and organisations in Sheffield (UK) and Goma (DRC).

We’re working together to understand how young people feel about hazard and risk, help different communities learn from each other, and create new creative learning resources.

Our goal is to help communities better understand hazards like volcanoes and floods, and feel more prepared. We also want to support disaster risk reduction education around the world.

The project will run for two years, starting in January 2026, and is funded by the UK Natural Environment Research Council.

We are very grateful to partner GRAVITAS for their successful work installing internet and equipment into our two Goma partner schools. We gratefully acknowledge the support of Franсk Mayira, Bosco Mushage and Idrissa Elie, graduate students based in Goma. They are supported through a GRAVITAS program aimed at promoting local expertise in Disaster Risk Reduction, and they serve as key points of contact between our Goma schools, the University of Goma, and project partners.
